Carl Sandburg Home – National Historic Site Tour the home of America’s poet, Carl Sandburg and visit Conemara Farms Goat Dairy. The 30-minute guided tour of the home includes over 65,000 artifacts on display and gives a glimpse into the lives of the Sandburg family. Tours are offered daily, except Christmas day. The fee is $5.00 for adults age 17-61, and $3.00 for adults age 62 and older. Tours begin at 9:30am; the last tour departs at 4:30pm. Tours are limited to 15 visitors. From Memorial Day until October and weekends throughout the year, tours are offered every half an hour. November through Memorial Day, tours are offered once an hour on the half-hour only. Though the goat dairy is no longer operational, kids will love visiting with the goats and viewing other farm animals.

 

Flat Rock Playhouse The Flat Rock Playhouse is the State Theatre of North Carolina. Annual performances include a ten-show professional series; a summer and fall college apprentice and intern program; performances and cabaret series by the YouTheatre; year-round classes and workshops for students from kindergarten through adults. Flat Rock Playhouse now hosts over 90,000 patrons annually. The Playhouse is located one block from The Wrinkled Egg and is across the street from the Carl Sandburg home.

 

Sky Top Orchard

 

Skytop Orchard located less than 4 miles from Little Rainbow Road off Hwy225 (Greenville Hwy). Apples, pumpkins, seasonal produce. Farm animals, Hay rides, photo ops.
